Scholarship Application Process

Listed below are all scholarships available to Janesville Charter Schools students, sorted by application type.

Most scholarship funds have specific eligibility requirements established by the donor, such as enrollment at a particular high school or specialization in a particular field of study. Also, most scholarship funds base selection on financial need, academic performance, extracurricular activities, volunteer/community service, or other talents.

Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) Janesville Chapter Scholarship

Available to students from: Edgerton High School, Evansville High School, Janesville Charter Schools, Janesville Craig High School, Janesville Parker High School, Milton High School
Eligibility: Student should demonstrate academic excellence and commitment to the field of study. Preference may also be given for financial need.

George & Harriet Christopherson Scholarship

Available to students from: Janesville Charter Schools, Janesville Craig High School, Janesville Parker High School
Eligibility: For students who will be attending a technical school. Student must have a 2.5 GPA or higher.

Janesville High School Class of ‘57 Scholarship

Available to students from: Janesville Charter Schools, Janesville Craig High School, Janesville Parker High School
Eligibility: Established to commemorate the 50th Class Reunion of the Janesville High School Class of 1957. At least one need-based scholarship shall be awarded annually to a graduating senior from any Janesville High School and qualified Charter School who will be attending an accredited college, university or technical school.

Janesville Multicultural Teachers Scholarship

Available to students from: Janesville Charter Schools, Janesville Craig High School, Janesville Parker High School
Eligibility: Established as a renewable scholarship program for multicultural students intending to pursue a career in education and apply to the School District of Janesville for employment. Applicant must be a graduating high school student; Applicants must be identified as, African American, Latino, Asian, or Native American on school enrollment/registration forms; Applicants must be pursuing a career in the education field; and, Applicants must be willing to sign an agreement stating that upon receiving Educator Certification, they agree to apply for employment with the School District of Janesville. If offered a position, applicants must be willing to complete three years of successful employment with the School District of Janesville. To remain in the program, the student must hold a minimum 2.75 grade point average on a 4.0 scale. Janesville Women’s Club Association Scholarship

Available to students from: Janesville Charter Schools, Janesville Craig High School, Janesville Parker High School
Eligibility: For graduates to attain post-high school education. Preference may be given for academic excellence and/or financial need.

JAREA-Kathryn Mary Swingle Memorial Scholarship

Available to students from: Edgerton High School, Evansville High School, Janesville Charter Schools, Janesville Craig High School, Janesville Parker High School, Milton High School
Eligibility: For students pursuing a career in the education field.

Lavern Anderson Memorial Scholarship

Available to students from: Janesville Charter Schools, Janesville Craig High School, Janesville Parker High School
Eligibility: For students who attended Lincoln Elementary School who intend to study agriculture, education, or health care. Student must be in the top 50 percent of class ranking.

Ronald J. Jelinek Memorial Fund for Welding Education

Available to students from: Beloit Memorial High School, Beloit Turner High School, Clinton High School, Edgerton High School, Evansville High School, Janesville Charter Schools, Janesville Craig High School, Janesville Parker High School, Milton High School, Parkview High School
Eligibility: For students or adults wanting to learn or improve welding skills. Application is open to anyone living in Rock County. Scholarships will be given for tuition, fees, books, supplies, and/or equipment required for courses at the educational institution.

Rubie McWilliam Scholarship

Available to students from: Janesville Charter Schools, Janesville Craig High School, Janesville Parker High School, Milton High School
Eligibility: Student should be between the 10-20 percent of class ranking range and must demonstrate good citizenship, school involvement, and a willingness to broaden academic horizons. Preference may be given for financial need

Wilson Rawls Scholarship

Available to students from: Edgerton High School, Evansville High School, Hillcrest High School, Idaho Falls High School, Janesville Charter Schools, Janesville Craig High School, Janesville Parker High School, Skyline High School
Eligibility: For literary-minded students attending a four-year college or university. Provide three letters of recommendation, one each from a teacher, guidance counselor, and employer or community leader. Submit a written essay of 200-400 words in length describing future education, personal life, community service, and career goals.
