Mineral Point Community Fund Announces Second Grant Cycle

It was nearly a year ago that the Mineral Point Community Endowment advisory board announced its initial grant awards – $2000 for the Sardeson building renovation and $2000 to assist with the restoration of the Governor Dodge Lodge at Water Tower Park.

Fast forward to March of 2019, a short 3 years after the formation of the endowment. The volunteer group (Keith Burrows, Jim Kackley, Kristin Mitchell, Lori Pittz, Peter Schmalz, Mike Wagner and Joe Witmer) leading this initiative to build an endowment that is FOR GOOD, FOR EVER, FOR MINERAL POINT is excited to announce the 2nd grant cycle.

Kristin Mitchell, board chair, noted, “Thanks to a very successful end-of-2018 $10,000 challenge campaign, the endowment fund received donations of nearly $34,000 and now totals nearly $185,000.  This growth means that we will have more monies available for our 2019 grants. Our local board looks forward to receiving and reviewing the applications and to making the grant awards. We are particularly interested in visible and lasting projects that benefit the entire Mineral Point community.”

Charitable non-profit organizations and/or local government entities serving the people of the Mineral Point area are eligible to apply for grants; requests from individuals are not eligible. Applications must be completed online at www.cfsw.org and submitted online no later than 11:59 p.m. Tuesday, April 30, 2019.
