Scholarship Application Process

Listed below are all scholarships available to Evansville High School students, sorted by application type.

Most scholarship funds have specific eligibility requirements established by the donor, such as enrollment at a particular high school or specialization in a particular field of study. Also, most scholarship funds base selection on financial need, academic performance, extracurricular activities, volunteer/community service, or other talents.

Roger P. Chapman (Evansville High School ’59) Memorial Scholarship for Study of the Humanities

Available to students from: Evansville High School
Eligibility: For students who will be attending an accredited public college, university or technical school. Must have a GPA between 2.5 and 3.5 on a 4.0 scale. Must have an interest in majoring in Humanities. INCLUDING SUBJECTS such as: history, English, English Literature philosophy, politics, community and political organizing, sociology, geography, cultural anthropology, writing, rhetoric, poetry, drama and music or the teaching of any of these subjects. EXCLUDING SUBJECTS such as: technical arts, technology, mathematics, statistics, the natural and physical sciences, applied sciences, agricultural sciences, engineering, accounting, banking, finance, business and management or the teaching of any of these subjects.

Evansville American Legion Auxiliary McKinney-Hatlevig Unit 35 Scholarship

Available to students from: Evansville High School
Eligibility: For students who will be attending an accredited college, university or technical school. Preference may be given for a direct decedent of a Veteran. Preference may be given for financial need, but is not a restriction.

Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) Janesville Chapter Scholarship

Available to students from: Edgerton High School, Evansville High School, Janesville Charter Schools, Janesville Craig High School, Janesville Parker High School, Milton High School
Eligibility: Student should demonstrate academic excellence and commitment to the field of study. Preference may also be given for financial need.

Dr. James W. Ames Scholarship

Available to students from: Evansville High School
Eligibility: For students who will be attending a four-year college or equivalent school of higher learning. Candidates should be active in Scouting, have scholastic aptitude, good citizenship, and leadership skills. Preference may be given to students with financial need.

Dr. Sam and Hannah Sorkin Scholarship

Available to students from: Evansville High School
Eligibility: For students who plan to pursue a career in the field of medicine, education, or law. Applicant must demonstrate an active participation in school and community activities and submit a well-written essay on his/her responsibility to community and his/her career goals.

Evansville Memorial Alumni Scholarship

Available to students from: Evansville High School
Eligibility: Student must rank in the upper two-third of his/her graduating class. Selection will be based on character, good citizenship, and financial need. Priority will be given to sons, daughters, grandsons, and granddaughters of an Evansville High School graduate.

JAREA-Kathryn Mary Swingle Memorial Scholarship

Available to students from: Edgerton High School, Evansville High School, Janesville Charter Schools, Janesville Craig High School, Janesville Parker High School, Milton High School
Eligibility: For students pursuing a career in the education field.

J.C. McKenna Scholarship

Available to students from: Evansville High School
Eligibility: Students should be enrolling in an accredited four-year college or university and must demonstrate scholastic aptitude, citizenship and leadership. Preference may be given to students with financial need.

Michael M. Berg Memorial Scholarship

Available to students from: Evansville High School
Eligibility: Eligibility includes rank in upper one-half of graduating class and U.S. citizenship. Preference will be given to a student pursuing a degree in industrial technology management (construction/building trade) or engineering from UW-Platteville. Consideration will be given to those majoring in construction/building trade at other qualified schools. A written statement indicating scholastic achievement, citizen/leadership qualities, interest in industrial technology/construction and future goals is required.

Richard Robinson Antes & Margaret M. Antes Scholarship

Available to students from: Evansville High School
Eligibility: For students who will be attending an accredited college, university or technical school.

Rock Prairie United Presbyterian Church Scholarship

Available to students from: Beloit Memorial High School, Beloit Turner High School, Clinton High School, Edgerton High School, Evansville High School, Janesville Craig High School, Janesville Parker High School, Milton High School, Parkview High School
Eligibility: For current and past high school graduates. Must be an active member of the Rock Prairie United Presbyterian Church and have demonstrated Christian values through church involvement and community service. Must have a minimum 3.0 GPA

Ronald J. Jelinek Memorial Fund for Welding Education

Available to students from: Beloit Memorial High School, Beloit Turner High School, Clinton High School, Edgerton High School, Evansville High School, Janesville Charter Schools, Janesville Craig High School, Janesville Parker High School, Milton High School, Parkview High School
Eligibility: For students or adults wanting to learn or improve welding skills. Application is open to anyone living in Rock County. Scholarships will be given for tuition, fees, books, supplies, and/or equipment required for courses at the educational institution.

Wilson Rawls Scholarship

Available to students from: Edgerton High School, Evansville High School, Hillcrest High School, Idaho Falls High School, Janesville Charter Schools, Janesville Craig High School, Janesville Parker High School, Skyline High School
Eligibility: For literary-minded students attending a four-year college or university. Provide three letters of recommendation, one each from a teacher, guidance counselor, and employer or community leader. Submit a written essay of 200-400 words in length describing future education, personal life, community service, and career goals.
