The Elkhorn Fund Gives Education Foundation a Matching Grant to Help During COVID-19

The Elkhorn Fund is helping The Elkhorn Area School District (EASD) Education Foundation further its efforts in supporting meal programming and food sharing during the Covid-19 pandemic by offering a dollar-for-dollar matching grant up to $1,000.

As a component of the Community Foundation of Southern Wisconsin, The Elkhorn Fund grant, in addition to matched community donations, will support the Elkhorn Area School District’s meal program for anyone experiencing food insecurity during the COVID-19 crisis.

The organizations invite the public to consider a charitable donation to help with effort during this critical time. All gifts will be matched 1:1 up to $1,000 and will go directly to the EASD Education Foundation to help those in need of food. Gifts can be made through the EASD Education Foundation at www.classmunity.com/elkhornwi/view-fundraiser.php?fundraiser_id=888 Funds raised above the matching grant will go into the Education Foundation endowment to be used for future needs related to the school district. For more information, contact Jason Tadlock, EASD Education Foundation President and District Superintendent at 608-558-8401 or through email at [email protected]

Community members in need of food assistance can access the school district’s breakfast and lunch programs by visiting any EASD distribution location listed here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1TWf4uzWJXOv1Izc-OFaH0Xg2DQgsN7ZAndrkKDUli0I/edit

The Elkhorn Area School District Education Foundation is a nonprofit, independent organization that connects the community and Elkhorn Area School District schools to inspire and enhance the educational experience of its students through charitable donations that help fund supportive programs.

The Elkhorn Fund was established in 2007 as a means for current and former residents to give back to the community through charitable contributions. Donations to The Elkhorn Fund are placed in a permanent endowment fund. A percentage of the Fund’s earnings are given back to the community annually in the form of grants, like this one, to Elkhorn area non-profits organizations

The Community Foundation of Southern Wisconsin which manages the Elkhorn Fund is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization with assets in excess of $60 million and helps match charitable donors with the needs of communities in Rock, Walworth, Crawford, Iowa, Lafayette, Green, Grant, and Vernon counties.
