The Evansville Fund wants to introduce you to its current Advisory Board Members with a new feature, “Get to Know Us…” Advisory Board Members of our Community Funds and EIE Funds are community volunteers who give their time to the Fund in support of their local communities. Members help raise funds and review grant applications for programs and projects that benefit all of Evansville. We are grateful for their help!
Meet Mark Schwartz
What made you decide to live in Evansville and how many years have you lived here?
I grew up in Evansville. I spent close to twenty years living elsewhere, from Milwaukee to Florida, but when I had kids, it was an easy decision to bring them home to this awesome community.
What made you decide to serve as a board member for the Evansville Fund?
As an administrator with the Evansville Community School District, it was clear to me what a great impact the Evansville Fund has had on our students through its generous support over the years. I look forward to being that link between the ECSD and the Evansville Fund Board.
What is your favorite part about being on the Evansville Fund Board and how many years have you been serving on the Board?
This is my second year as an Evansville Fund Board member. I truly enjoy working with the other board members as we support the community and create fun events like the Chocolate Extravaganza.
What three words would your friends use to describe you?
Fun, Loyal and Simple.
What would we most likely find you doing on the weekend?
It’s likely that you’d find me standing around a grill with my family and friends.
What is one of your favorite quotes?
Work hard. Play hard.
What’s your favorite sport to watch and which team do you root for?
I’m a Packers fan, of course.
What is your favorite way to unwind after a busy day?
I look forward to seeing my family after a busy day. A quick round of Mario Karts with my kids can really put things in perspective.
